The Zlaant Story

We understand that coming back from an injury is a difficult task that requires self-discipline and patience. This is a lesson we were confronted with when our Co-Founder, Sean, started to struggle with symptoms of Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS or Runner’s Knee).Sean has been an active triathlete since 2017, competing in numerous races across South Africa. While training for his second Ironman he started to notice the painful signs of PFPS.

As a qualified doctor, with a background in orthopaedics, Sean was familiar with the causes of runner’s knee and how to treat it. Even though he knew what to do, he found it difficult to recover from his injury. That’s when he decided to reach out to Jesse.

Together, Sean and Jesse began searching for the most effective way to recover from and prevent common sports injuries, helping them perform at their best. This led them to what they believe are the three pillars necessary to get back out there:
